"By the Dawn, and by the Ten Nights..."

Allah ﷻ swears an oath by these 10 days in Surah Al-Fajr (89:1-2), signifying their immense greatness.

Calculating calendar...

*Dates are calculated astronomically and may vary locally by 1 day based on actual moon sighting.

Better than Jihad? The Prophet ﷺ said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out, giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Sahih Bukhari)

Recommended Acts During These 10 Days

Recite Takbeer, Tahmeed, and Tahlil Abundantly

It is Sunnah to say Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, and La ilaha ill-Allah out loud in your home, on the street, and in the marketplace to revive the Sunnah of Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah.

Fasting (Especially the 9th)

It is highly recommended to fast the first 9 days. If you cannot, you must try to fast the 9th day (Day of Arafah), which expiates the sins of two entire years.

Do Not Cut Hair or Nails (If offering Qurbani)

If you intend to offer an animal sacrifice (Udhiyah/Qurbani), it is a Sunnah to refrain from cutting your hair, nails, or skin from the 1st of Dhul Hijjah until the sacrifice is complete.

Perform the Udhiyah (Qurbani)

On the 10th day (Eid al-Adha) or the following days of Tashreeq, perform the sacrifice of a permissible animal to feed the poor, your family, and friends.
