The Story Behind Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha, or the "Festival of Sacrifice," commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Isma'il (Ishmael) in obedience to Allah's command. Just as Ibrahim was about to execute the sacrifice, Allah replaced Isma'il with a ram. This ultimate test of faith is honored globally every year through the Qurbani.
The 10 Best Days of the Year
Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. The first ten days of this month are considered the best days of the entire year in Islam — even better than the days of Ramadan! The Prophet ﷺ said: "There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days."
