Every Morning You Wake is a Mercy
Waking Up is Allah Returning Your Soul
Allah ﷻ says: "He takes your souls during the night and knows what you do by day, then He revives you in it." (Surah Al-An'am 6:60)

The Morning Hour is Special: The Prophet ﷺ said: "O Allah, bless my nation in their early mornings." (Ibn Majah, Sahih). The hours between Fajr and Duha are filled with barakah. Start your day with gratitude and dhikr — and watch how Allah puts barakah into your time and energy.
Transliteration Alhamdulillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur
"All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us, and to Him is the resurrection."
First words of the day: This is the direct pair to the sleeping dua. When you slept, your soul was taken (minor death). When you wake, Allah returned it — so the first words from your lips are praise and gratitude. Say this BEFORE doing anything else — before looking at your phone.
Transliteration Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilaikan-nushur
"O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the morning, and by Your leave we reach the evening. By You we live and by You we die, and to You is the resurrection."
This dua frames the entire day as belonging to Allah. "Bika" (by You) appears 4 times — morning, evening, life, death — everything is attributed to Allah. The companion dua for evening is "Allahumma bika amsayna..." (replace asbahna with amsayna).
Transliteration Allahumma inni as'aluka khayra hadhal-yawm, fathahu wa nasrahu wa nurahu wa barakatahu wa hudahu
"O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day — its opening, its victory, its light, its blessing, and its guidance."
This dua asks for five things for your day: goodness (khayr), opening (fath — new opportunities), victory (nasr — success over challenges), light (nur — guidance and clarity), barakah (blessing in time), and guidance (huda). A complete blueprint for a blessed day in one dua.

The Sunnah Morning Routine
Wake with Waking Dua — before reaching for the phone
Use Miswak — clean teeth as the Prophet ﷺ did
Perform Wudu — with the dua for completing ablution
Pray Duha — 2 to 8 rak'ahs between sunrise and noon
Start your Day — with intention for every act to be ibadah
Why Fajr Prayer Changes Your Entire Day
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever prays Fajr is under the protection of Allah." (Sahih Muslim 657). Fajr sets the spiritual tone for the entire day. When you begin your day with remembrance of Allah, you activate divine protection, barakah in your time, and a sense of purpose that carries through every task.
What is Salat al-Duha?
Salat al-Duha (Chasht prayer) is a voluntary prayer performed between sunrise and slightly before noon. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Every bone of the human body must perform charity each day. To pray two rak'ahs of Duha gives charity for all of that." (Bukhari). It can be 2, 4, 6, or up to 12 rak'ahs. It provides an energizing spiritual boost to the mid-morning and is especially powerful on Fridays.
