Commanded by the Angels

The Prophet ﷺ said: "I did not pass by any group of angels on the night of Isra, except that they said to me: 'O Muhammad, order your Ummah to perform Hijama.'" (Tirmidhi)

The Sunnah Days of the Lunar Month

While Hijama can be performed at any time for medical emergencies, performing it on these specific days of the Islamic (Hijri) month holds a cure for every disease.

"Whoever performs cupping (Hijama) on the 17th, 19th, or 21st day (of the Islamic month) then it is a cure for every disease." (Sunan Abu Dawud)

Understanding Hijama (Wet Cupping)

What is it?

Hijama is the process of creating a vacuum on the skin using cups, making small, superficial scratches, and extracting toxic, stagnant blood from the capillary system. It is a powerful detox for the body.

Best Days of the Week

Along with the 17th, 19th, and 21st of the lunar month, the Prophet ﷺ recommended performing Hijama on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. He discouraged performing it on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Locations of Cupping

The Prophet ﷺ had Hijama performed on his head (for migraines), on his foot (for pain), and between his shoulders (the 'Kahil' point), which is the most beneficial spot for general health.
