What is a Hadith Qudsi?
Difference from Quran
The Quran is the exact, literal word of Allah, revealed through Jibril, miraculously preserved, and recited in prayer. A Hadith Qudsi is the meaning inspired by Allah, but the wording is from the Prophet ๏ทบ.
Difference from Normal Hadith
A normal (Nabawi) Hadith consists of the Prophet's ๏ทบ own words, actions, or approvals. A Hadith Qudsi explicitly starts with the Prophet ๏ทบ saying: "Allah the Almighty said..."
The Theme
While the Quran covers law, history, and theology, and normal hadiths detail how to pray and live, Hadith Qudsi almost exclusively deals with matters of the heart, divine mercy, forgiveness, and the soul's relationship with its Creator.
