"Nobody can be given a blessing better than patience."

Hardships are not a sign of Allah's hatred. Often, they are the exact mechanism He uses to raise a believer's status in Paradise.

"How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything... If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude, and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently, and that is better for him."
SAHIH MUSLIM 2999
"No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."
SAHIH BUKHARI 5641
"True patience is only when the calamity first strikes."
SAHIH BUKHARI 1283
"The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure..."
TIRMIDHI 2396
"No Muslim is pricked with a thorn, or anything larger than that, except that a degree is raised for him and a sin is erased from him."
SAHIH MUSLIM 2572
"Whoever tries to be patient, Allah will give him patience."
SAHIH BUKHARI 1469

The 3 Types of Sabr (Patience)

Patience in Obedience

This is the patience required to consistently perform acts of worship, such as waking up for Fajr prayer, fasting during hot summer days, and paying Zakat.

Patience from Disobedience

This is the internal struggle to restrain oneself from committing sins, avoiding forbidden desires, and lowering the gaze despite the temptations surrounding us.

Patience during Calamities

This is enduring trials, sickness, loss of wealth, or the death of a loved one without complaining against the decree of Allah, accepting that His plan is ultimately perfect.
