The Forms of Sadaqah

Financial Charity

Giving money, food, or clothing to the poor, orphans, and widows. This is the most common form of Sadaqah and is highly emphasized to purify one's wealth and soul.

Non-Financial Charity

The Prophet ﷺ taught that smiling at your brother, speaking a good word, removing a harmful object from the road, or even guiding someone who is lost are all recorded as Sadaqah.

Sadaqah Jariyah

This is "Ongoing Charity". Digging a well, planting a fruit tree, building a mosque, or publishing an Islamic book. Even after you die, you continue to receive rewards as long as people benefit from it.
