Important Etiquette for Ziyarat

Do Not Worship the Sites

It is strictly forbidden in Islam to wipe your hands on the walls of Cave Hira or Cave Thawr for "blessings," or to pray towards them. They are historical sites, not objects of worship.

Physical Strain

Climbing Jabal Nur (Cave Hira) is extremely steep and physically demanding. It can take 1-2 hours of climbing stairs in the heat. Ensure you have plenty of water and do not force elderly pilgrims to climb.
