The Virtues of Fasting
Unquantifiable Reward
Allah says in a Hadith Qudsi: "Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it." Fasting has no fixed reward; Allah gives from His infinite bounty.
Ar-Rayyan (The Gate)
There is a special gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyan. On the Day of Judgment, it will be called out: "Where are those who used to fast?" Only they will enter through it, and then it will be closed forever.
A Shield from the Fire
The Prophet ï·º said: "Fasting is a shield with which a servant protects himself from the Fire." It shields you from committing sins in this world, and from the Hellfire in the Hereafter.
The Answered Dua
The supplication of a fasting person is never rejected, especially right at the moment of breaking the fast (Iftar). It is the perfect time to ask Allah for your needs in this world and the next.
