Setup for Google Calendar (Web)

Google Calendar has a built-in feature to display Islamic holidays alongside your regular events.

  1. Open Google Calendar on your desktop browser.
  2. In the top right corner, click the Gear icon and select Settings.
  3. On the left sidebar, scroll down to Add calendar and click Browse calendars of interest.
  4. Scroll down to the Global religious holidays section.
  5. Check the box next to Islamic Holidays.
  6. Optional (Hijri Dates): To see the actual Hijri date next to the Gregorian date every day, go to Settings > General > View Options > Alternate calendars > Select Hijri calendar.
Done! Your Google Calendar app on your phone will automatically sync these settings.

Setup for Apple Calendar (iPhone/Mac)

iOS natively supports an alternate Islamic calendar overlay.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Calendar.
  3. Tap on Alternate Calendars.
  4. Select Islamic.
  5. Adding Holidays: Open the Calendar app. Tap "Calendars" at the bottom. Under "Other", ensure "Islamic Holidays" is checked. (If it's not there, you can subscribe using the generic iCal link below).

Manual iCal Subscription (For Custom Reminders)

If you want a highly detailed calendar (e.g., White Days fasting reminders), you can copy this generic URL and paste it into Add Calendar > Add Subscription Calendar.

Setup for Microsoft Outlook

Outlook allows you to enable alternate calendars directly from the options menu.

  1. Open Outlook on the web (Outlook.com) or the desktop app.
  2. Click the Settings (Gear) icon at the top right.
  3. Go to Calendar > View.
  4. Scroll down to the Alternate calendars section.
  5. Check the box for Enable alternate calendar.
  6. Select Arabic Hijri from the dropdown menu.
  7. To add Holidays: Go to Calendar > Add calendar > Holidays > Search for "Islamic" and add it.
