Welcome to the Sajdah Tilawat Tracker, an intuitive and free tool designed to help Muslims worldwide keep an accurate record of their Prostrations of Recitation (Sajdah e Tilawat). As you read or memorize the Holy Quran, use this tracker to check off the verses where a prostration is required.
This tracker includes all 15 Sajdah verses, gives the Surah and ayah reference, and saves your progress locally so you can continue later without losing your completion status.
What is Sajdah Tilawat?
Sajdah Tilawat refers to the prostration performed upon reading, reciting, or hearing specific verses in the Quran. There are 15 such verses across the Quran. When a person recites or hears one of these verses, it becomes necessary to perform a single prostration to Allah (SWT) out of humility and submission, following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
How to Perform Sajdah e Tilawat
Performing the prostration of recitation is simple and does not require the full sequence of a regular prayer:
- Ensure you are in a state of Wudu (ablution).
- Face the Qibla.
- Say "Allahu Akbar" (without raising your hands) and go directly into prostration (Sajdah).
- Recite the tasbih of Sajdah ("Subhana Rabbiyal A'la" 3 times) or the specific Dua for Sajdah Tilawat.
- Say "Allahu Akbar" and rise from the prostration. There is no need to say the Salam to end it.
Use this tracker to mark each verse immediately after reciting it so you can maintain focus and avoid missing any of the 15 prostrations.

Rulings Regarding Sajdah Tilawat
According to the Hanafi school of thought, performing Sajdah Tilawat is considered Wajib (obligatory). In the Shafi'i, Maliki, and Hanbali schools, it is considered a highly recommended Sunnah (Sunnah Mu'akkadah). Regardless of the school of thought, it is a beautiful act of worship that earns great reward.
